Description:
A dialup internet connection
is as it's name implies. You "dial up" via a standard telephone
line each time you want a connection to be made, using a standard modem
(eg 56K Fax/modem, internal or external) This is the
most common way of accessing the net, although ADSL may offer you advantages
in speed and connectivity where available. |
|
Description:
"ADSL is a type of Broadband.
Its faster and usually remains permanently connected. Whenever your computer
is on, you can be connected to the internet with no phone calls. You can
use your telephone simultaneously to make calls without having to disconnect.
Easy... You do, however, need to be within "range" of an ADSL enabled
telephone exchange. If you are, it might be your cheapest option.
